Meet the Stars of Our Billboard: Lesley

Posted: 19th June 2025

Next up in our billboard campaign blog post series, we chatted to Lesley. Here is what she had to say…

What do you look for in a home?

For me it’s all about cosy and comfort. Location was my main choice this time as I was living at the far end of Falmouth, there was nothing nearby and as I am getting older I wanted to give up my car in the near future. The property I have chosen is close to town and the beach, I’m on the seafront so the Princess Pavilion is close. There is a bus as well so I can get wherever I need easily. Before this I lived near the Football Club - I felt isolated but it’s so much nicer now and less maintenance and worry. It really takes the weight off the shoulders.

How many times have you moved?

Oh, my goodness – In the last 20 years I’ve moved 4 times (I lived in Kent before). This last move was so much nicer – no worries, straightforward and quick, a lovely experience! The last few times I’ve moved on my own which I’m really proud of.

What do you look for in an estate agent?

Someone approachable that doesn’t mind me continuously ringing and asking questions (which I do) and someone reliable who keeps in touch, friendly and the continuous contact.

What was the experience like of working with Heather & Lay?

Absolutely brilliant. It took 14 weeks from start to finish and I was buying and selling with you. You found a buyer for my property the day my house went on the market and the flat I bought was amazing. The flat I was interested in was with Heather & Lay so it made sense for me to sell with you as well to simplify the process. I got to deal with Barnaby who is great. He had so much patience with me as I must have asked him about 5 times to view it again!

And lastly, our favourite question for our No Place Like Home Campaign - What does home mean to you?

Family, comfort…  I like to be in a small space. I don’t want open plan; I like to close myself in. I like to have people around me but not in my flat. I’m closer to my family as they love being here. My son lives here also so I get to be close to him. When he married a Falmouth girl, I thought it was finally safe to relocate here. As I’m speaking to you, my Grandson is here with me, and I love that we can be on Castle Beach in minutes – it’s heavenly – what a location. Location really is everything. My family love visiting me here. My old house was closer to them distance wise; I could walk from where I was before but this property is so much nicer and they are only 10 mins way. I get to wake up and be close to the sea every day, and who doesn’t want that?

Now that is something we have to agree with! Properties this close to the seafront are very! Thank you, so much Lesley for being a part of our billboard campaign, And good luck with the new home!

How much is your property worth?
