Six Favourite Independent Shops in Falmouth (Arwenack Street Edition)

Posted: 13th March 2024

In Part Three of our favourite independent shops in Falmouth blog, we have headed to Arwenack Street to feature a few of our favourites on this stretch of Falmouth.

Sabzi

What can we say about Sabzi? Part café, part deli and part delight, Sabzi is a real haven for those pantry favourites and one-of-a-kind presents. From gorgeous olive oils, dressings and spices to delicious cacao and artisan candles, Sabzi spices up your life with a selection of culinary treats and beautiful gifts. The perfect place to purchase something special (the preserved lemons and perelló olives are our favourites)

Willow & Stone

Speaking of gifts, it doesn’t get much better than Willow & Stone. From beautiful books to stunning ceramics, keepsake toys and mimosa scented candles, Willow & Stone is a favourite for artisan gifts and beautiful items for home and lifestyle. Inspiring books, ironmongery and wrapping papers that are works of art themselves (we frame ours). A firm favourite for our content creator Jess, who gets all of her notebooks from here.

Bookmark

You cannot visit Arwenack Street without popping in to see Tash at Bookmark. A treasure trove of books that transport you to different times and eras, there is something for every interest. From fiction and non-fiction to maritime history, memoir and quirky titles for every taste. Go up the staircase to find even more books, each with a tale to tell. The little half landing is our favourite nook where you’ll find books on all kinds of topics and the window display is always inspiring.

Sophie Tilsdon

For mid century inspired eclectic homeware, look no further than Sophie Tilston. From lampshades and tea towels to tote bags and candles, coasters, cards and even tea cosies! Sophie promises stylish print designs rich with colour and pattern. All items are designed by Sophie in her Cornish seaside studio and are inspired by anything and everything in the everyday. John and Jo Lay are fans of her work, loving the vibrancy and colour she brings to Falmouth.

Secrets

An iconic boutique in Falmouth, Secrets is somewhere for stylish ladieswear and striking accessories. Vibrant and colourful, you’ll find seasonal clothing, statement jewellery and a friendly smile. A petite boutique with a big personality, it’s no secret that the Heather & Lay ladies like Secrets. Particularly Penny in the office who quite often dresses Secrets style.

Henry’s

One of our favourite places for coastal and country clothing is Henry’s. A family run business, Henry’s is named after the owners Golden Retriever. A dedicated country clothing boutique, here you’ll find brands such as Dubarry, Fairfax and Favour, Sebago, Musto, Schoffel and Le Chameau. Beautiful, timeless brands that celebrate the coast and country. From timeless boots to stylish cashmere wraps, practical raincoats and beautiful scarves. Always friendly and welcoming it’s a must-visit for us in Arwenack Street, there’s even a photo of Henry himself in the changing room!

These are just six of our favourites but there are so many more that we love. Falmouth is such a wonderful town. We’ve really enjoyed exploring the boutiques of Falmouth and finding the most incredible gifts. Stay tuned for future blog posts featuring more Falmouth favourites! View our favourite boutiques on Falmouth High Street and Church Street.
