THE LOCATION Coventry Road lies a few moments from the water's edge and is home to the village Primary School. Flushing is a popular and highly desirable waterside village, a short year-round foot ferry ride across the harbour from Falmouth. The village has an active local community and good everyday facilities such as a primary school, church, two pubs, a general store as well as a quayside restaurant.
Flushing, with its public slipway, is ideally placed for access to Falmouth harbour, the Carrick Roads and all tributaries of the River Fal, providing arguably some of the finest sailing waters available. There are a number of local sailing clubs and a gig rowing club with boathouse. Mylor harbour is about a mile and a half away and provides excellent facilities including a marina with pontoon and swinging moorings, chandlers and a full range of marine services.
The village is a sociable and inclusive place, popular with those residing permanently and also loved by those requiring a home for holidays. Flushing Arts group has a varied calendar of events and workshops whilst the annual village pantomime provides opportunities for amateur dramatics and fun!
THE PROPERTY This lovely Victorian house was considerately and fully renovated and modernised in 2003/04 by a respected local builder. It is a particularly good and appealing example with comfortable and spacious accommodation comprising two double bedrooms upstairs, the main with en suite shower room/WC. Downstairs all is slate floored and open plan but with well defined sitting room, dining area and kitchen, providing well proportioned and very sociable 'living' space. The woodburning stove provides warmth and cheer and is supplemented by electric night storage heaters.
To the rear is an enclosed courtyard to enjoy afternoon and evening summer sunshine and within a few moments walk one is by the waters edge and slipway.
Whether as a permanent or holiday/investment home this is a real gem, offered with the simplicity of vacant possession and no onward chain.
